It was only a matter of time before the stars who were in limbo after being passed over for the role of Captain America: Civil War, and now, it looks like they’re finally back on the big-screen, as Deadline reports that actor Anthony Mackie has joined the cast of the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming.
As we previously reported, Mackie is set to reprise his role as Nick Fury in the film, but we don’t know whether or not he’ll be making an appearance as the character in Homecoming, or if he’ll remain as the villainous The Vulture.
The actor, who will play Captain America in Homecomers, was reportedly hesitant to return to the character because he didn’t feel he could do justice to the mantle of the hero, and he wanted to be the “good guy” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While it would have been nice to see Mackie take on the role, the actor’s reluctance to play the role made it even more difficult for him to play it, and we’re hoping that will change now that he’s back.
Now, it’s time to give Mackie his due in the MCU, because the actor can play his part well.
And don’t forget that he also recently starred in the short-lived ABC series The Muppets, which is a great way to keep fans engaged with his work.
Captain America: Homecove has been in development for more than a decade now, and has seen some great twists and turns.
With the movie coming out this summer, we’re expecting a lot of surprises.
